Before your visit, take a moment to think about the symptoms you’ve been experiencing and write them down. Note any concerns you may have, even if they don’t seem directly related to your eyes. It’s also helpful to make a list of all medications you’re taking, including supplements and vitamins. Don’t forget to mention if you’ve ever had any eye injuries, surgeries, or previous diagnoses of eye conditions.
Lens replacement surgery with phacoemulsification and IOL implantation is the current gold standard in cataract treatment. This method is minimally invasive and allows the cataract to be removed through a very small incision. Thanks to advanced equipment and foldable intraocular lenses, the procedure is quick and gentle. Instead of traditional anesthesia, only numbing eye drops are used, making the surgery safe and painless.
If the surgery is as expected, you may be discharged from the hospital later in the day; in some cases, patients are asked to stay for a day for follow-up. A day later you can return to your usual routine; however, you must exclude any physical activity and strictly follow the doctor’s recommendations. The recovery period will last for a month, and after the final visit to your doctor, and subject to the doctor’s approval, you will be able to live your life without any restrictions: sports, sauna, trips. Lens replacement surgery is simple!
1. Incision
